Artist History
I started with music in the age of 14 in 1994. In that time I got my first guitar, After I had learned the first chords I began with writing my own Songs and it got clear that I would need a band to perform the stuff I had written.
One year later I already had an E-guitar, I found the band Tonträger with some friends of mine.
To describe our music, well it was trashy but poppy independent similar to Nirvana. However, The big change happened in 1998 when the drummer and the bassman left the band because of their carriers. At that time the Rest of the Band bought a drumcomputer and a 4Track, and decided to play the guitars and sing over selfmade electronic playbacks.
So what to say I really enjoyed to work that way because I was able to make complete songs on my own. I got more and more involved into the electronic side of music and also started to hear more of it. In 1999 the band finally splitted up. It was the same time when I first recognized Drum n Bass by hearing Goldies Ring of Saturn. I got Timeless and was even more impressed.
It was the incredible power of the beats and basses that forced me to try to make music in that style. So I got myself a computer and a MPC and started to learn to make music with sampling. So I made my first Peaces just with my Headphones and the MPC. What to say it was hard work. I cut the samples on the computer and also added effects until I liked them. In the second step I transferred them on the MPC and started to build the arrangements. It really helped me to get the basics of drum programming.
In 2000 a new period began. I got a newer computer and started to work with softwaresamplers and -synth and got more involved in to Soundprogramming and the possibilities it offers to get a unique Style. I worked a lot just with the computer. But Hardware was still my favourit so I got an EMU E6400 and an Access Virus that now make the biggest part of my sound. I am just using softsynths and stuff to fill up the arrangement with little details.
All of the time I described so far was just a time of learning. Just yet I started to make tracks that I hold it worth to keep and to share with other people, although I'm still on my way for the perfect tune.
Enjoy ! tex |
