Having spent four years in a nationally recognized college vocal group during his time at UNC, he began touring the local area with his guitar and his own songs several years ago after graduating. A limited pressing of his critically acclaimed self produced CD sold out in several months (although CD-R's with lyric sheets can be easily obtained for $2 from the artist himself). If you are in the Durham area and have some friends and a tiny bit of money, Josh is available for house shows as well as playing larger venues and can be contacted via this site. Artist History Although I grew up in a musical family, and began writing songs (or attempting to do so) in high school, it wasn't until college that I truly began to immerse myself in music. I sang in a male acapella group and classical choirs, and began to spend hours a day writing and playing my guitar. By my senior year, I had picked up that piano again as well. Still, I was not satisfied with my songwriting and had not yet finished a song that excited me. Then, out of the blue, for about 8 months during 2001-2002, I had a personal renaissance, and was able to write 1 or 2 songs a week that were very satisfying. As I became more passionate about songwriting, I began to venture into digital recording, discovering that every time I would take one more step into music production, I would find that 3 more (and hundreds of dollars!) were necessary. Unfortunately that season passed, and over the past year or so, given a difficult schedule and a lack of creative spark, I have written few songs and had little time to record, although I have been able to do several exciting concerts. This August when things slow down I look forward to writing, recording and performing more regularly. I look forward to sharing my music with you!
