Artist History
Jason recieved a M.A. in Music Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada in 1999. While at school, he cut his teeth scoring plays for the Theater 5 theater troupe, writing original scores for plays such as Jekyll and Hyde, a Midsummer Night's Dream, and Peer Gynt.
After graduating, he returned to his hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and began writing scores for TV. His work was included in episodes of Incredible Story Studio, 2030 CE, and My Global Adventure. He also wrote a forty-five minute orchestral background score for the Titanic exhibit at the Maryland Science Center.
He is currently working on a suite of pieces that combine jazz and world music, through a grant from the Saskatchewan Arts Board.
Jason won the grand prize in the Jazz Category of the 2001 John Lennon Songwriting Contest (he was a runner-up in 1999). He has also been among those nominated for a 2003 Gemini Award (Canada's Emmy) for the score of an episode of 2030 CE. |
