Artist description
Dasein is a unique blend of post-punk and angular synth-pop, perhaps better defined as a post-modern next wave. The aesthetics of escapism and sensuality are alive and well in all of Dasein's music, with each song emerging to form a brave new definition of modern rock.

Artist History
Dasein ("dah-zine') was originally conceived by singer/guitarist Justin Foia and keyboardist Philip Cook in the late spring of 2000. The name given to the band, literally meaning 'thing being there' in German, was inspired by Justin's interest in Heideggerian phenomenology. It was a strange but fitting appropriation of the term, seeing how the enventual sound of Dasein was to be its own unique phenomenon amongst the current trends in music today.
Bassist Raquel Lopez and drummer Chris Kaufmann round out the core membership of the band.
