Artist History
Dale started as a two guitar players, Nick and Jeff.
We had a few songs ready for a band, all we needed
were the other parts. And so, searching for a drummer
and a bassist we went. Nick found a drummer named
Adam (or Tempel) at his place of emplyoment Royal
Oaks Car Wash. He really blew at drums, but he was
a cool kid so we kept him and he gradually got
better. We were thinking of a band named and the
drunken assistant manager of the car wash, named
DALE, was an obvious solution to our problem. Now,
with two guitars and a drummer, all we needed was
that special someone who could play bass. Mike
Knapper, a handsome young man from the CPG, said
that he would aide us until we could find a
permanent bassist. He played a few shows with us,
and he was damn good at it. But, while playing
the high school battle of the bands, Nick spotted
and strapping young fellow named Josh Smith
dancing in the crowd. When asked who wanted to be
the new DALE bassist, his hand was the only one
that was raised. So, Mike was honorably discharged
and Josh was added. A few weeks after DALE realeased
their first "CD" entitled DALE LIVE! which included
two songs that really sucked from that very
battle of the bands. Many months as saving money
later (from personal paychecks) and DALE started
recording their first professional EP "Coincidence?
I think not.". It was released on November 7th,
2002, and there was a lot of people there. It was
fun night, leading to many memories with the
captain himself. A few weeks later it was unanimously
decided that Jeff, one of the original guitarists
from DALE, didn't have enough time in his schedule
anymore to participate in the band. About a month
after Jeff left, we picked up a new guitarist named
Brandon. Brandon adds a lot to the band, not to
mention makes it ten times easier to put on our
own local shows (he has his own live sound company).
DALE stands tall among the Minneapolis local
scene and the future looks good. A new full length
album is being discussed, and a midwest tour in
the summer of 2003. Keep in touch DALE ROCKERS! |
