Artist History
Surf Ballistics is a group of extremely talented players that formed in '96. After being signed to a small indie label, Surf Ballistics released their self-titled debut in early '97.
After selling over 1500 units (mostly to friends and local club goers), the band began work on thier second album. After brief touring in Colorado and California, the group released "Dichromatic" in early 2000; quickly selling over a thousand units with no promotion and no touring.
After a 5-year relationship, Surf Ballistics recently bought out their contract with their record label: embarking on a new chapter! Pre-production is in the works for a new title: "SB3".
Surf's guitarist (Danny P) also plays guitar with the Trauma/Sony artist Phunk Junkeez. |

Press Reviews
words from others...
"Surf Ballistics is da bomb. Yo this cd sound good. My favorite song is 'It's Understood'. I was in Amsterdam and I heard this song on the radio and I was like 'these brothers got it going on youknowhatimsaying'! It's got that new sound and the lyrics are kicking k-knowledge."
"This is the future of rock. This is a great band. All the elements are here on this first album. The progressive songwriting takes me back to 2112. The flowing, mystic beats, 80's guitar, and the inspirational lyrics. This cd covers a wide spectrum of musical sounds."
"Amazing, this album is powerful and I enjoyed every track. Every song on this CD is impressive. All of the colorful sounds from all of the instruments dazzled me while the grooves kept my head-a-bobbin. I hope to see them in concert. I imagine that they put on a spectacular show."
"A must have for anyone who likes funky sounds! I'm grateful that I live in the same city as this band. I get to see them live -- and what a treat that is! The album makes a great base for their live performances. A friend bought me the album after seeing them, feeling that I would enjoy it. It was one of the best gifts I ever got! I went and saw them live and couldn't believe how good they sounded. Most bands fall victim to the fine-tuning that studios allow so that they don't even sound remotely the same onstage. Not so with this group. They're taking the slogan 'keepin' it real' to a whole new level."
"From the first second to the last lick, Surf Ballistics have proved themselves a force to be reckoned with. This powerhouse of this quartet are incredible to witness: on-stage AND off. Blistering bass, pounding drums, penetrating vocals, and frenzy-induced guitar are all staples of this band.
Though thought to have ending with the sudden loss of longtime drummer Dan Hinze, Surf Ballistics have embarked upon a new chapter. Only two releases bear their name, but SB keeps growing and changing with each passing performance and recording. Even with a new member, the band still remains tightly-knit."

"High energy Funk/Rock bordering on Prog/Rock. High energy, funk-rock fusion that lets up just enough to let you breathe, then drops the hammer again. Precision drumming, flowing bass lines, amazing guitar and the rhythmical, rap hysterics will give your jowls a workout you're not soon to forget."
