Artist History
This group of demi-gods, artists, philosophers and warlords
first materialized in 1995 somewhere in the frozen
wastes of Saskatchewan, Canada. Their musical evolution
unfolded as they studied the music enjoyed by the low-life scum
of humanity. During their journey from 3 -chord "punk"
(a la Ramones/Misfits) to earth-shattering Gothic metal,
they released several demo cassettes (1996-97) and were then signed
to Michigan-based Transparent Records in 1998. Their debut 7" ep
"A Lesson in Mortality" caught the attention of death-rock
fans from New York to Texas. In late 2000, work began on a massive full-length
project that wouldn't see the light of day until
almost a year later. The result: the 13 track album
released on the newly formed Manticore Music
Group in NJC's home base of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
With the addition of Annabel Arkham on synth (replacing
a member who only did studio work) and Vlad the Inhaler
on lead guitar (who already provided tracks for the
album), the NJC ceased to be a power trio and permanently
expanded to a quintet now capable of performing live
the epic tracks of their full-length album. NJC continues
to cause a scene wherever they turn up around the Canadian
prairies and have appeared in openning slots for the likes
of the Groovie Ghoulies and Nashville Pussy |
