Artist History
All from the east end of London now based in Essex, Belisha formed 4 years ago and released their first album under Filthy Sonnix Records Late 2001.
This was followed by the 1st Single The Fall Of The Evergreen Released in March 2002.
The brain child of Byder and Dan’s ever growing global anger, their goal was to fly in the face of an ever deteriorating UK music industry….and they are.
Self-Produced, the work ethic of the band is frightening, and is gaining them respect from many people.
A following has built around the world in the last 6 months - after 3.5 years of being ignored by everybody.
Live dates will follow in UK, Europe, and USA Starting from June 2002. |

Press Reviews
Home Grown Goths Decline to run with the pack...... Britains own Belisha have bucked the trend and put out an album of lavish tuneful and artfully worded whimsy....And the fact that ‘The Hounded’ is a first effort from band and label alike makes it doubly impressive.- KERRANG!
This album is best described as a mutant combination of the best bits of various goth outfits...Somehow they manage to thrash out the various elements into an instantly appealing goth album. - METAL HAMMER
These are danceable goth rock tracks with a metal twist brought in for good measure and even enough electronic in the background to keep bleepy types somewhat satisfied............
There is a poetry in ALL of the songs and that is perhaps what makes it magical............
Through this lovely poetry and fine writing (and great vocabulary salubrious????) the music creates enough strength, anger and energy to take the poetry to another level.....................
The vocals are strong, powerful, filled with depth…. and hard to find a comparison to. Believe me, I tried...........
The fiercely danceable Cannibal should work well in the club scene, as will the title track, The Hounded and especially, The Fall of the Evergreen (although most Goths might be out of breath after the first chorus)...............
STARVOX
Unbedingt beachten! OBLIVION
When DJ Patrick gave me this cd I didn't know what to expect. When I popped
the disc in my cd player I was stunned at how absolutely amazing it was. The
cd remained in my player for days on end. In a scene that has been
predominately over run by synth pop bands, Belisha falls under the
gothic/death rock category. That's right you are reading correctly people!!
With their fierce sound and Dan's intense vocals they can easily set the
stage for the long awaited return of the guitar oriented Goth bands and
possibly take over where the "Sisters of Mercy" left off. You can tell this
is true when you take a listen to the first single "The Fall of the
Evergreen". The rest of the tracks on this disc are just as brilliant and
yes Belisha has a lighter side to them as well with the tracks "Casparian
Sea" and "Every Sentimental Moment". Dan's lyrics are like poetry in motion.
I cannot say enough about this band, except look out world they are about to
take charge! You can find out more on Belisha by visiting their web site at
www.belisha.com. When you visit the site you will find an exclusive track
waiting for you. It's called "People of the Dark", it is a track they
dedicated to the gothic audience and you can only here it on the site. You
can purchase their cd "The Hounded" which I strongly advise you do at
www.filthysonnix.com
