Artist History
In July 2002 the 'new' 8th fret were officialy
formed. After over a year as 'a shitty blink 182
cover band' the original members Tom, John and
Paul recruited three more members to help create
the massive sound the original visionarys had in
mind.
The 'newbies' were George and Olly (two old
friends of the band) and Alex, singer of local
pub band Blue September. It was late one night
when the fret stumbled into this local hero, and
after a drunken acceptance Alex's fate was sealed.
Over the best summer of their lives, the fret
worked hard on original material. The result
was 'somewhere | between', a fresh and promising
start from a band already making a name for
themselves on the local scene with their
blinding live show.
Since then 8th Fret have made stunning
appearances in many locations, the best of which
in Salisbury Art Centre, where the crowed was
blown over and stomped on with the introduction
of newer, heavier, stronger, energetic, inspiring
material... which will be released very soon...
A low point in the bands career was the removal
of Olly from the band. Most of the band felt that
Olly didn't have the same level of talent and
dedication as the others, yet despite the lack
of a second guitar the band's sound is more
mighty and beautifuly strong than ever.
So what next? The release of a new EP to a new
legion of fans is imminent, and with offers of
management already the future is looking bright.
Very, very bright. |

Press Reviews
"...Next up, making their first apprearence at
the Salisbury Art Centre, were 8th Fret, who
gave an impressive showing. Obviously influenced
by the likes of the LostProphets , the combine
plenty of effects, crashing cymbals, and a
decent vocal to create a sound which is a little
different to most of the young bands coming
through.
It was also a refreshing change for a Salisbury
rock band to have a keyboard as an integral part
of their make-up."
