Artist History
My Friend Fred formed in early 2001 with the most random collection of 4 people ever. Tom + Sim (guitar/drums) were into ska/punk, Sean (bass) was into indie music and Aaron (2nd guitar) was into metal. This wasn't going to work at all. No. Sean left to pursue his indie activities as singer in Chekov and Aaron left to play guitar in Consume. So they picked up Claire on bass, someone who begged them to join the band - thinking that it was a real band. Oh how she has mistaken as she soon found out she was the most talented
out of all of us. Yet she stuck with it, and even persuaded Tom to sing (who in turn, persuaded her to sing). So, we're now at September 2001 with a 3 piece lineup including vocalists. Once MFF began practicing properly, the music started coming thick and fast, and they were soon able to play gigs all around Kent. And that is how it stands - still gigging, now recorded one three-track single, entitled "Random Acts Of Kindness". My Friend Fred will be playing at a shithole near you soon. Oh yes. |
