Artist description
Michael Lee Hill has played guitar for as long as
he can remember. Hill was first attracted to the
guitar because it seemed like magic. Feelings and
thoughts would enter his mind from nothing more
than listening to his uncles strumming old country
standards. By the age of 12, Hill was cutting his
teeth so to speak learning Led Zeppelin,
Bad Company, and Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. |

Artist History
Michael Lee Hill, now 34, has set out to capture
the attention of guitar enthusiasts worldwide with
his instrumental guitar music that would fall into
the rock/fusion vein.
Citing influences such as Edward Van Halen,
Sting/The Police, Prince, Steve Vai and
Joe Satriani, Hill documents a life long spiritual
journey with his music --conveying feelings of
hope, anger, fear, joy and separation,
representing a musical interpretation of Hill's
conviction that one's reality is created by his
or her own belief system.
Michael Lee Hill recently had the honor of being
personally selected by legendary guitarist
Steve Vai as the Grand Prize Winner of the
IBANEZ/ STEVE VAI/ TONOS GUITAR CHALLENGE!
Steve Vai told Tonos that Hill's performance
"Blew Him Away." In addition to receiving one of
Vai's autographed Ibanez Guitars, Hill received a
special mentoring session with Steve Vai at the
Detroit G3 show on July 9th,2001. Vai treated Hill
as his special backstage guest during his
performance at the Detroit Energy Music Theater
where he was performing with other rock greats
Billy Sheehan, and Joe Satriani, and John Petrucci.
If that wasn't enough, Vai gave his personal
approval for Michael to use his contest version of
Vai's "Jibboom" on his 2nd CD....FROZEN THOUGHT ,
and Vai.com sponsored a contest in which 25 copies
of Hill's FROZEN THOUGHT CD were given out to
Steve Vai fan club subsribers!
Hill's musical accomplishments include his
self-released debut CD... ALL THAT IS in 1999,
and Hill's second release....FROZENTHOUGHT.
Another recent development is a distribution deal
with Aztec Music , Aztec Music is releasing
FROZEN THOUGHT in Australia, New Zealand, Europe,
and Asia (for now). The CD is currently
available in the US via most major online stores
And an endorsement deal with PAWAR GUITARS has
been finalized, Michael is proud to be working
with PAWAR GUITARS and feels their guitars are
pure works of art.
Hill's future goals include reaching the greatest
Audience for his music. |

somebody must rise to the top of the list and
take the prize, and Michael Lee Hill from
Cleveland, Ohio was singled out by our universe's
Steve Vai as the winning entry. Big congratulations
to Michael, and everyone who entered!
