Artist History
Born in Finland in 1949. Moved to Canada in 1957 started to learn to play accordion.
Moved to Chicago area in 1965. I started teaching music at the age of 15 at a local music store.
I studied music and received a Bachelor's degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.
I received my teaching degree in 1972. I played in various bands playing various instruments.
I learned to play guitar and bass guitar at the age of 16. All other band and orchestra instruments
in college. After college I tought band and orchestra, I composed and performed a lot of my own music.
I quit teaching and got involved with remodeling while playing with various bands at weddings and in bars.
I started writing smooth jazz even before it was called smooth jazz. I played music that had no name for it.
My biggest influence in music has been playing guitar in the early days. The first thing I learned was
bossa novas. |
