Artist History Stop and waste your precious little time away. Delay Janas was formed in late October of 2001 by Abe Burns (guitars) and Yamil Rodriguez (vocals). Robert Verdaguer (Drums) came into the picture during the month of November and Alex Laboy (Bass) the final piece in July of 2002.

Press Reviews Breakthestatic.cjb.net Break The Static Review Delay Janas another talented band to come out of Florida recently, has released a powerful 3 song demo. Lately all of the bands from Florida have the same kind of sound, but these guys do something a little different that separates then from the rest. Instead of coming out with a melodic metal type feel, this band takes it a little softer and more upbeat. A small punk influence makes all the difference with this band. The vocals by Yamil Rodriguez are one of the band's two major strong points. He sings in a very soft, sweet, melodic tune. His lyrics are powerful, and poetic in every way. If he keeps developing his voice, this guy will lead the band wherever they want to go. The other major strongpoint in this band is their guitarist Abraham Burns. Burns plays with an Incubus feel. The type of sound that puts you in another world. Not heavy at all, but just beautiful. The other members of the band don't slack off either. Robert Javier Verdaguer tracks the bands flowing drumbeats, and Alex Laboy handles the band's bass duties. These guys have a lot of talent right now, and hopefully they will continue to grow and improve through constant songwriting and performances. If these guys really believe in themselves and work on improving everyday, you will no doubt be hearing a lot more from the guys in Delay Janas. Rating: 8.5 out of 10 By: tizzy Calamityproject.com Delay Janas is a miami based outfit that plays a style of music that can easily be compared to dredg. it's just got that feel to it that is reminiscent of dredg's "leitmotif" record. which isn't a bad thing, because i like that record a lot, so it came as no surprise to me that i enjoyed this demo. The guitars as well as the rest of the music are powerful and emotive, ranging from harsh to calm in a moment's notice. All in all, if you're a fan of dredg in any way, you'll be eating this one up in no time.
