Artist History
Formed in 1992, the band, then known as Tornado
Alley, was becoming well known in and around their
hometown of Toney on the outskirts of Huntsville
Alabama. In 1994 the band appeared and performed
on a local Television show to promote a July 4th
weekend long outdoor concert. The show was hosted
by the band and a good friend Wayne at his farm.
Hence the name “Waynestock“! The show drew people
from all over north Alabama and a total of ten
local bands including Nite Lite, Flying Blind,
Jimi Hat, Madlock, Seed, and of course our guys,
Tornado Alley, rocked Toney into the wee hours
of the morning. The show was a great success!
After the big event Tornado Alley had its first
set back when their then bass player, Ed Dunning,
experienced a heart attack. The band awaited Ed’s
recovery with plans to jump back in with both feet
running. It was not to be! Upon his recovery Ed’s
job moved him to Nashville. The band broke up and
the guys went their separate ways!
Not willing to give up, the guys dabbled here and
there and continued to play music. Missing the
creativeness they had as a group, to write and
perform their own music, the band reformed in
1997. Quickly appointing a new bass player and
eager to get things rolling again, they spent all
available time rehearsing. In no time they were
ready to go and renamed themselves Peacemaker.
Immediately the creative juices began to flow and
originally written music started to flourish
again. Playing shows locally, the band has drawn
back their entire fan base and a lot more. The
addition of a third guitar player in 1999 gave
Peacemaker an even greater ability; both vocally
and musically.
Peacemaker is now one of the busiest bands in
the North Alabama area, playing local venues
several times weekly. They were chosen out of over
eight hundred entries to represent new talent in
the 2001 Big Spring Jam and released their debut
self titled CD in February 2002. Peacemaker’s
musical influence derives from many great bands,
including Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Styx,
Allman Brothers, Eagles and Boston, just to name
a few. This is only the beginning!!!!
