Artist History
The band now known as Minium was born in the March of 2001 in El Salvador. Zapata, eugenio, and Juan Carlos have known each other since they were 4 years old. Zapata & eugenio used to play in a band called Rash for 2 years until it broke up. When they met Janne it was the perfect opportunity to start a new band that was different & unique, which is what they had been trying to do without success since Rash split up. eugenio contacted Julio which was a childhood friend of his brother's and the four got together to jam. By the second practice, the band's first song, "To My Eyes" was born. The band decided to focus on original material from the very beginning and started cranking out melodic tunes with a heavy edge. After having a couple of temporary bass players, including Janne's friend Christian who played while he was visiting, the band decided to stop the bass player search and recruit Juan Carlos, who played guitar, and buy a band bass. That is how the actual lineup came to be. After concentrating on mostly practicing during the first year the band now has a body of work consisting of over 12 songs and is starting to make a name of itself in the Salvadorean live scene. After a stint in the Guanarock festival and with a studio demo in the works Minium is working towards building a following and the chance to get the hell out of El Salvador's "going-nowhere" music scene. |
