A long way which started with the friendship of Fransi (Francesco Epiro) and Dave (Davide Gullotto) who, in the first ’90, addressed to the Black Riders’ project their energy, their aim to succeed and to create new wings to fly into the world of music. A free, sincere flight wrapping up the hearts of their listeners, setting free all those emotions and feelings hidden in the mist of daily pains; a chant which raises strongly, ragely and firmly trying to become the voice of thousands of desperate silences sinking in the ocean of indifference, intolerance, hypocrisy and loneliness flooding the age we live in; a breath, a sound, a glance trying to plunge into the light, against shades and fears, moved by the might of Love and Passion. An unconditioned freedom which Fransi, Dave, J.P. jr, Salva and Alek together with Paola and Fabio break out in their live concerts. Artist History ...A soft wind carrying the scent of far away places and times….an endless and deep night where darkness is broken through by beams of Light and moving colours…a music portraying the soundtrack of a journey….a journey started with the spiritual and artistic union between Fransi (Francesco Epiro, keys, piano, vox) and Dave (Davide Gullotto, guitar, bass, piano, viola, vox)…the choice of a name of biblical mention in which the opposites are joined: the black shades of the self torment in contrast to the identity of who strives to support the change for the attainment of Light…. Riders give through their songs a strong message of social care and deep introspective search. Through the exploration of pain, mystic stain and through the strongest emotions plunged in the ocean of one’s soul and heart, they wish to lean people towards the stimulation of an important spiritual evolution. Their music is a whirl of energy, freedom and sweetness that cross the wide fields of their inspirations (P.Gabriel; Sting & Police; Toto; Prince; Pink Floyd; U2; Dire Straits; J.Hendrix; Beethoven). A never-ending need to write and compose makes possible the realization of an amazing repertoire (about 150 songs of which 60 recorded) and the production of 5 demo CD (”like a fire in your eyes” (1993) - “Castle of Paradise” (1999-2000) - “Land of Faith” (2001) - “Black Riders”(2001-2002) - “Scream of Freedom” (2002)). A high-level artistic and musical background tested through years of live concerts and important stages (Palavobis -Rolling Stone - Propaganda -Rainbow - Palalido - Binario Zero (MI) – Castle of Vigevano); festivals (Festival dell’Unit� (2001) - Prog Fest (1999)); and great performances (support band for Porcupine Tree (1999) -Ustmamo (2001)). A strong interest aroused by the originality, the quality of lyrics and music, and the great charisma and involvement that Riders excite in people who join their world.
