Artist History
As the glory days of Minneapolis rock were covered
in clouds, having in recent years been forced to
endure the breakups of bands like Husker Du
and the Replacements, four simple- and like-minded
guys sought to become the town's next big thing.
Lacking any real originality or talent, hoewever,
they never got past the mediocre milestone of
Wednesday night headliner in any local clubs.
The band decided to hang it up for good in 1999
despite never having scraped together enough money
to release the record they'd worked on
intermittently for four years. As the masters
gathered dust, the band's desire to release a
record did not: monthly, each member contributed
what he could afford until their account boasted
the record's pressing costs. When it became
available, their record 'Oilwaterchalkcheese' was
roundly deemed not worth the wait by local rock
scribes. None of the four are currently involved
in a musical project. |
