Artist History
Young singer/songwriter Serena Lauren is set to make her mark in the music world. After 9 years of classical piano lessons, Serena picked up a guitar at age 18 and began composing songs whenever she could. She discovered songwriting was the emotional outlet she had always needed and began pouring herself into the craft, filling notebook after notebook. Two years later, her music has taken to her over 20 different venues, including a spot on the Soundwaves TV Show and a headlining spot in the First Night Stockton Songwriter's Cafe.
Serena, whose music is a unique blend of emo, rock and pop, cites some of her biggest influences as Dashboard Confessional, Shakira, Switchoot, Jimmy Eat World, No Doubt, The Cranberries, and Howie Day.
Serena spent the summer of 2003 writing and recording Waking Up with producer Jack JT Trammell at Fat Cat Recording. Waking Up contains six energetic songs full of emotional, honest, and fun lyrics that will appeal to teenage and adult audiences
