Artist History Making Monsters formed in the small town of Magnolia Arkansas. The four-member group consider themselves a rock and roll band, although the actual sound of the group is rather unique. Several generations of music styling have come together to create a sound that fails description. Imagine the epic style songs of the 70's mixed with the powerful ballads and highly energetic tunes of the 80's, then add the edgy rock sound of the 90's. This is the type of music that Making Monsters creates. There are other contributions to the sound of the band, not least of which is the diverse musical background and experience of the members. Cumulatively, Making Monsters have over 50 years of musical experience. Formed in the spring of 2001, the band diligently works on a long list of original material they hope to put out on an independent cd later this year. Their songs are filled with powerful rhythms and catchy hooks guaranteed to please the ear and leave you humming their songs long after they are through playing. They believe that one should play what is truly felt inside and by doing so convey the passion that is put into the music to the listener. Writing songs and playing music is truly the passion of the entire band.. From the time they began playing live in the area, they began to form a small, but loyal, following that grows with each performance. The live performances of Making Monsters are an experience in musical mayhem and raw, unbridled energy. The passion really shows. The stage performance is a thundering freight train that races along and blows away the bystanders, yet returns to find many vying for the chance at a ride. The band has written nearly 16 originals that range from slow and melodic, to hard-driven solid rock pieces guaranteed to get the head-bangers going. The lead singer and main songwriter for the group bases many of his songs on his own personal experiences and the experiences of those close to him. His goal is to create a carefully laid out story that reaches the heart and soul of the listeners. That story is then carefully orchestrated by the rest of the group to create a song that is uniquely theirs. All four members put together have a chemistry that ignites their songs like a match hitting gasoline. The bands dedication to their craft and overwhelming desire to take the band to staggering new heights, seems to be all that is needed for this power quartet to make all their dreams become a hard-rocking reality. Their takeover is planned, and soon the whole country will be converted to monsters. “Parents hide your children.” There really is a monster lurking out in the shadows.
