Artist description
If you're looking for a bouncy, energetic power pop band, you've come to the right party.
The Saul Goodman Trio (or SG3, as they are referred to by the underground media) has been doing crazy things to speakers since January 2002. A love for big power chords and good melodies brought these cats together early last year. Despite their brief time together the SG3 are no strangers to ROCK.
Joel Martin (vocals/guitar), Eric Gregory (bass) and Jay Morgan (drums) are all natives of Los Angeles. They played in their first band together over twelve years ago although it was a little different then. The hair was longer as were the songs. But what did they know? A few Beatles and Guided By Voices albums changed all that. The world needs a new Cheap Trick!
Recent history? Joel and his band Every Single Saturday release the well-received, independent album Building. He has also toured America and Europe with MCA recording artist Res and performed recently in a Los Angeles based rock opera. Jay, with his band The Reals have been promoting their album Thank You Card as well as having their music featured on the WB series Jack and Jill. Eric...uh...joined a softball league and took up wine tasting.
So after a few years of rocking with other people they decided to kick out the jams together again. A fresh demo scored them a great slot at the 2002 International Pop Overthrow festival, which got them many new friends. They are preparing material for a soon-to-be-available EP while honing their live show on LA stages.
Bottom line - short and boppy songs that will get in your head and chill there for a while!
