Artist History
Todd Erickson has worked in music, post production and feature film visual effects for a combined seventeen years with a wide variety of clientele including Universal Studios, Imagine Entertainment, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.
Todd has studied with a number of renown musicians; most recently fine tuning his conducting skills with a protege of Leonard Bernstein, Brad Keimach in Los Angeles. Todd graduated from Music Tech of Minneapolis with a degree in Professional Music Composition.
Upon graduation, Todd worked as a keyboardist/guitarist and vocalist in the funk band Cherry Line; this gave him a healthy dose of R&B, jamming four nights a week alongside future members of Prince's New Power Generation, Janet Jackson's band and The Rembrandts. This led to Big Logic and Jonah And The Whales, two local bands that enjoyed huge followings. In addition to local radio play, Todd & Big Logic were invited to write and record three songs for a charity album benefiting MISSING CHILDREN MINNESOTA. Todd co-produced and mastered this compilation CD which was recorded and mixed at Paisley Park Studios.
Todd's successful career as a session musician fueled a degree in Computer Animation and Design from the American Center for Digital Animation and Imaging. ROADKILL THE MOVIE, an animated short film he co-directed, produced, animated and scored, won a Telly Award at the 1994 Cincinnati International Film Festival. This launched him to a position with Metrolight Studios in Los Angeles. Over a number of years, Todd was involved in various projects there, including BATMAN AND ROBIN, MCHALES NAVY, MORTAL KOMBAT, KULL THE CONQUEROR, FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON and the feature film logo for Imagine Entertainment as a Computer Graphics Supervisor, Visual Effects Supervisor, Senior Technical Director/Animator, Editor and Music Supervisor.
Todd has composed music for clients such as Nestle, Showtime, TNN, Sears and Universal Studios. In addition, he has served as an Engineer, Sound Mixer, Music Editor and Supervisor on cartoon pilots for Warner Bros. and The Cartoon Network. Continuing his musical education, Todd has taken classes in Orchestration and Composition at UCLA. There, he was recently honored with the very first BMI - Jerry Goldsmith Scholarship in Film Scoring.
Completing his job as Visual Effects Supervisor on the experience ride, POSEIDON’S FURY for Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure Theme Park in Orlando, Florida, Todd formed Union Productions Incorporated. He has since lead multiple projects for clients including Universal Studios, Toyota, Fox Sports and TNN. Todd looks forward to the inspiring, creative and collaborative times ahead. |
