Artist History
It all started at the beginning of junior year...I think. Dlo walked up to me and said, "Hey, why dont we start a band. Me on guitar, you on vox." I agreed because my video games started to suck and I didnt have anything else to do. Besides, I figured being in a band would mean more chicks. For about a month after that we just sat around telling people we were in a band called Houston 500(after the pornstar that fucked 500 dudes in one day), when Dlo suggested that Chris join the band on bass. I was all for it. Eventually(a few months later), Chris told us that we now had a drummer named Josh Wilson. And Houston 500 was finally a whole band. Josh told some of his metal-core dickhead friends that we would play a show for some dudes birthday party at a church, and the show was 2 weeks away. So Houston 500 rushed to Josh's House had our first practice, without Chris, didnt write any songs, just kinda jammed, and told the dickhead that we were ready to play his birthday party. We just figured that if I screamed really high pitched and loudly and everyone soloed we would look like a really crappy japcore band. This didnt go well for the dickhead who was going to have a party, so he dropped us from the set claiming that, "We have to many big bands for you guys play." Houston 500 was dead.
Enter Pat Shields, exit Josh Wilson. Josh could no longer practice because he is a fucking wrestler. Pat recomended getting Steve Terrorist Kelly to play drums(seeing as how he is just about the only other drummer in the area). And Pat, Dlo, Chris, and Steve practiced on Sundays at Sound Idea for a few weeks just covering House of the Rising Sun and jamming until I could finally make a Sunday Practice.
Steve was BIG friction for the band because he was in another band also, 8 Minutes Of Destruction. No one liked that idea, and after a couple of arguments and badly recorded demo tapes, Steve called it quits, just in time for Josh Reid to assume the position. Josh could practice(when his parents allowed) and we badly needed a name. Bob Suren kept calling us the Dlo Experience, thus the name was born, and the bands roster was complete, for now.
We practiced, irregularly, wrote a couple of rockin' songs, but that was about it until around February 2001. That's when everything started coming together and practice was more regular(for everyone except Dlo). We recorded a 3 song demo tape in Chris' garage and put it to a CD and gave a few copies away.
Bob Suren again came up with a good name for the Dlo Experience, and suggested that we be called The Armed Nudists. The Armed Nudists as we know it was finally born.
Now we just need to write tons of new songs and play some shows and we'll be as rockin' as Wesley Willis talkin to Alanis Morrisette.
