Artist History Varin was conceived in Cory Gilmore's head, although at the time, the band was nameless. The vision, to create hard, edgy music but still striking balance. Cory’s roots, like most in the band are metal and punk. Regardless of this fact, the music has taken a slightly different shape thanks to mixed influences from all members. After contacting Jan, a young, up and coming female guitarist, was contacted to play guitar, a drummer was still needed. Cory later contacted Colin to play drums and followed up contacting Kris to sing lead vocals. Cory and Colin had played a together a little in the past but the relationship had since long dried up. Colin was absent from music for almost 2 years. After Colin hopped on guitar after a few practices, Cory was keener to have him on guitar because guitar was his greater strength. After playing with a temporary drummer for two months, Varin experienced a short period without a drummer. This time proved interesting, as this was when Varin's writing ability and style started to gel. After looking for about two months, Kris introduced Jeff to the band. Jeff and Kris knew each other because they worked together. Only after a couple practices Jeff officially joined and has proven, without a shadow of doubt, to be the solid drummer that Varin was seeking. Less than two years in existence, a lot has been accomplished and the overall response from listeners has been quite positive. Varin has begun crafting it's sound and as time passes it continues to progress... Varin is getting ready to record their first full-length in November and it will be released in the New Year. They are already writing their second album.
