Artist History
Synema was conceived in 1991 and was originally named, "X itout ", a trio headed up by a Wisconsin songwriter and guitarist Steve Nellessen.
X itout concentrated on playing all original Progressive Rock music.
X itout giged throughout the summer of 1991 until the original drummer departed. In the fall of 1991 Salt Lake City percussionist and synthesist, Mike Adkins joined. The band went on an intensive music writing spree under the name "Exit". Mike directed Steve's sound into a more complex, synthetic and intricate style. In the winter of 1992 Exit took on the local club circuit and ended up playing more covers in their shows than they would like to admit. Exit played the scene until the strain of cover tunes, began to rock their stability. In late 1995, an overhaul and name change breathed new life into the band. Cinema continued writing and performing, until the spring of 1999 when the bassist departed.
Steve and Mike regrouped in the winter of 1999 to record an album under the name of "Synema". The CD "Equal Reaction" was the stepping stone for "Evolution For a Party Of One".
