Artist description
spankthenun doesn't take any standard approachs to writing the music we do, we like to create songs that will catch your attention as soon as you start listening, whether it's a "really full, thick, industrial sound, its no weak ass ripoff" kind of beat like Glitch does or a "catchy synth-line that gets stuck so far back in your head that you will think that you won't ever get it out of there" like Edge of the World. We love Industrial music, but we love good music and inventive music. We are by no means Industrial guru's we do many thing's to bar us from that. But we do make music that is a times pounding and in your face and at other times soft and addicting. We continue to strive to make the perfect song. We believe this song will have just the right amount of each genre a band can be forced under and even have little bit of humor (ala - beers and steers). |

Artist History
spankthenun was born a couple of years ago in the back of a room where we found this guitar, a tape recorder, and a Snapple bottle. We locked the door and started our first song. We quickly realized that this is what we wanted to do, so we continued on, eventually merging with a drummer and a guitar player, Jeremy learned the bass and I picked up the mic. This was the first incarnation of spankthenun as a band. Within days we booked a gig at the “Vampyre Lounge”, and went to work writing songs to play for the show. One month later, we played to a packed house, even playing some songs more than once because we had time left over. Two weeks after our first successful show the band broke up...After a few months...we purchased an Ensoniq EPS 16...a drum machine (HR-16B) and a Tascam 4 track...and set to work at writing proper songs. We started building a following all over Hollywood and the surrounding areas and played lot’s of shows (Hell’s Gate, Dragonfly, The Roxy, Cobalt Cafe, etc.)...Eventually...I was “surfing” the NET one night in August and came across this MP3 Site and quickly realized the benefits and opportunities that it could provide. I quickly got together some material we had been going over, and had not released yet, and uploaded it. Very quickly I discovered how much fun this Site is for the Artist’s and met some very cool people, I would not have otherwise met. |

Press Reviews
"I'm suprised Quentin Tarentino hasn't gobbled you up for one of his movies. Great Production.""I'd like to see you guys do a live show. Even if this isn't my favorite style of music, I have to give you credit for conveying a lot of raw energy in this recording.""Just listened to glitch for the third time. I really like this song. Reminds me of Frontline Assembly." |
