Salamander Tales are a band that has had many faces over the years each bringing their own feel for the music with the consistent writing of guitarist John Shipley. Their music is a blend of melodic ballads with rock sensibility to produce what one critic called a modern southern influence to alternative Pop without a trace of twang. The band has received praise from every Atlanta paper and by L.A. based Gordons Flash tipsheet as well as the Austin Texas based Audities tip sheet. Other kudos for the band are being selected to play in the SXSW Showcase, the Ticketmaster/Musician Magazine Showcase, the NXNE Showcase. The band was also a featured artist on the MP3.com CD "The Best 100 Bands You Never Heard Of" as well as MP3.coms CD "Best Alternative Rock On The Net" and The band was also a semi-finalist in Disc Makers Best Un-Signed Band Competition.
