Artist History
After dropping out of school and busking on the streets of Cork and Dublin, Colum Regan found his way to Fuerteventura where on a quiet beach he met Kerry Sanson – a qualified Drama student from Manchester who was finding voice and a powerful stage presence with a local rock band playing at festivals and big gigs throughout the Canary Islands.Gradually playing together, the mixture of Colum’s folk style and Kerry’s melodic rock/pop influences, combined with a common passion for percussion and all things rhythmic grew into a partnership of exciting original music carried by two strong diverse personalities.A shared love of travel has found them taking their music to venues in Hanover, San Francisco, Toronto, and closer to home, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Guildford, where they played at the ‘99 Festival.Since moving to South Wales in the Spring of ’99, they have been gigging continuously, quickly becoming the most popular duo on the pub circuit. The seven track CD is a result of their work with producer Sev Lewkowicz, (ex keyboardist from Mungo Jerry) recorded at the Music Loft in W. Sussex.New Druids are now working on putting a full band together, aiming to include a broader range of ethnic and traditional instruments with an emphasis on percussion and driving rhythms, producing melodic pop songs with a unique sound. For more info call; 01446 772259 mobile 07713036647 or email newdruids@aol.com |
