    Artist History
I first picked up a bass guitar in 1994 and haven't looked back since. My first project, Morpheus, in which I played bass and lead vocals, formed toward the end of 1994 after myself and two school friends decided that it was time to do something about our passion for music. After about six months of rehearsing Morpheus played its debut at Producers hotel, in Adelaide, South Australia. Over the next two years Morpheus played Adelaide's rundle street scene extensively with gigs at The Crown And Anchor, Exeter, Producers, Madlove, Brompton and Tivoli Hotels. Two demos were also recorded, both of which were well received by the local 3D radio. After an unsuccessful search for a new guitarist Morpheus decided that its best option was to continue as a two piece; bass, drums and vocals. This resulted in what I believed was a fresh approach to melody and rhythm; audiences had the same opinion after a brief stint on the live scene supporting the likes of Buellah’s Fix. A demo was recorded and we played a live performance on 3D radio. The two piece concept lasted around six months before it too dissolved. However it gave me a new perspective on the songwriting process which led to my first opportunity as a guitarist. This new band drew on its experience in the live scene to produce what I described as a melodic sound with an emphasis on song writing and atmospheric vocals. Unfortunately the band did not progress beyond its debut at the Exeter Hotel due to the personal commitments of band members.Since the break up of this last band my interests have turned toward solo performance and songwriting. I have drawn on a wide variety of influences to develop my sound. Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, The Stone Roses, Sonic Youth, Jeff Buckley, Swervedriver, Stereolab, Mogwai are just a few names that rise to the surface of my CD collection.

"Spinning swirls of noise form a concrete wall of sound with ambient reverb-drenched guitar strummings and hollow vocals that lull you into a hypnotic state. A cross between the moody sounds of the Smiths and My Bloody Valentine’s noise swellings."--www.listen.com "You want to buy this CD if you want to lie in your room and relax.Michael Pledger has an extreme Radiohead sound in his songwriting, while maintaining an defining ambience of originality."Treetops" has a surreal and passive feel to it. It reminds me of a Radiohead meetsSimon & Garfunkel type of song, while my favorite song has to be "Fearless", forit's resembelence to Pearl Jam's song "Release". It's nothing like "Release", "Fearless" has simply captured the emotion and overall feeling behind the song."Ten Stories High" and "Lead Feet" are reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. The bottom line is....if you like Radiohead, mellow Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin,or anything that would release all your stress by simply listening to it for15 minutes, YOU NEED TO BUY THIS CD!!!4 Stars ****PS Even though you didn't recieve 5 stars, I will buy your CD within the next week or so, and I'll pass it on to a friend of mine at a radio station in Phoenix, AZ, USA..."--june9music, Soulkeeper Promotions
