Artist description
Great voice and introspective lyrics. Pop to rock to something else...you be the judge. From driving vocals and spacey, grinding guitar sounds to straight forward melodies, harmonies, and jangley rhythms, versatility is strong but the voice is recognizable and very unique. |

Artist History
I (Kris) started out in Mississippi in 1985. With my band Perfect Strangers,
I became hooked on vocal and musical expression. My first release "Protected in America"
did really well all over the world and we even got a deal - but as some deals do, it went
south and I moved on to Nashville in 1988, formed For Kate's Sake and performed
there under that name for almost 12 years. Now, I still call Nashville my stateside
home but I live most of the time near London (England that is!) with my bassist and
writer husband, Joe Hughes (known for co-writing the massive hit "No More I Love You's").
A new cd is in the works and shows are forth coming in England and the states. |

Press Reviews
"Living proof that Decatur (GA) has not cornered the market on sensitive acoustic music. Actually the work of one person, Kris Wilkinson's dark vocals tend to elicit feelings of deeply buried sadness and introspection." - Creative Loafing (Atlanta)"The salient feature of these songs is Wilkinson's ranging, mezzo vocals. Wilkinson's lyric is expressive and dynamic, marking her as a talented and skilled vocalist. Her original material is soulful and authentic." - Outsight
"You can expect a spine-tingling set of finely crafted and deftly played acoustic and semi-acoustic ballads and rockers, all charged with a Sarah Bettens-like vocal energy, but with a bit more feeling... Don't miss it!" Lemonrock.com
"Kris’ new home is England, where her recent material and subsequent releases and tours have earned her respect from the music press and a growing UK fan-base. There is now a large alt-country scene in London and the UK, and Kris Wilkinson is one of the most progressive song-writers to emerge. Classic Americana influences with a modern edge and some touching songs make Kris Wilkinson an absolute must." Halfmoon Putney
