    Artist description
Up to the present High Gain District have assembled a solid set of over 30 self-composed songs. The diverse influences from past and present musical references have enabled them to create their own highly energetic mix of creativity, wit, power and enthusiasm. The band has performed at all kinds of events in and around Hamburg. They have gained their experience at small party gigs, medium sized clubs and local summer festivals. They have shared the stage with well known German bands such as ROH, Wunder and Hosh. They also played for two straight legendary days at the Skateboard World Championship in Münster in 98.Their first CD, entitled “Tobacco”, was independently released in December 1998. Being a prime example of intelligent Hardcore Rock Music that cannot be reduced to a simple formula, it has since sold over 400 copies. The well known German music magazine Gitarre und Bass states that “a heavy dose of bizarre grooves, provocative lyrics and hot hardcore energy” can be discovered on “Tobacco”.Several more great shows were given in Hamburg over the last few months, including famous German clubs such as Logo and the Marx.New recordings proceeded from summer ‘99 which were professionally mixed at the Impulse recording studio in Hamburg. Finally released in March 2000, High Gain District proved that contemporary German Rock Music can live up to the challenge of the omnipresent American counterparts. The three Songs on “Vol. 1” present the band moving aside from the paths being worn down by several other current Crossover acts. The song “Salacious” is featured on the “new gener@tion of rock” compilation CD distributed nation-wide and promoting different Rock/Pop artists from northern Germany.

    Artist History
High Gain District are non-conformist, and are not readily classified or grouped. Delivering a radical blend of power and complexity, the band offers the audience a very direct and intense experience. The band express their passion for all kinds of contrasting elements by creating a web of fascinating musical structures.Since their birth in 1996 High Gain District underwent a constant development leading the band and their audiences on creative ways paved with inventive variations to a world full of dynamic movements and unforeseen turns. They provoke the audience to be equally moved, amused and stimulated. Music to be experienced.Being Crossover should not be limited to mixing two different styles, such as Rock and Hip Hop. High Gain District create a balanced whole of contrasting elements from past and present musical references. The result is a modern and urban rock that is as deeply rooted in 70s hardrock music as it is in the innovative rock bands of the last decade.
