Artist description
What could possibly describe the music that Finlay Rose plays. While country rock or classic rock probably comes closest, neither really covers the spectrum of the bands stylistic palate that has evolved over the course of nearly ten years. Finlay Rose's sound is based loosley around a pop rock country vocals flavored springboard with an alternative sound of Brand X Guitarist, John Goodsalls's angry guitar influence which allows room for spontanous improvisation. The end result is a rich tapestry that transends musical boundaries defying easy catergorization -- from country to pop rock, to classic rock. The concept for this album was inspired by Steve’s experiences as an Englishman in California and his relationship with an LA woman. This album is about harsh reality and not just about beautiful sunsets, walking on the beach and love at first sight. |

Artist History
Finlay Rose is more distinctive than the name implies. After writing two new albums, the band is back in full swing with founding members and chief songwriters Steve Finlay and lyricist Martin Rose at the helm. Lead vocalist, Greg Jarbath joined the band in the spring of 1999, bringing his soulfull, rich voice which was the final ingredient needed to enhance the band's unique style.Steve has worked with Jon Moss of "Culture Club", Steve Hillage, Jon Porter, producer of "The Smiths" and Sara Brightman and Rob Mullins. . Finlay and Rose in search of artistic challenges and inspired by the enduring musical legacy decided to bring on Brand X founder and guitarist John Goodsall. John brings his wonderfully original style of guitar playing to the music and has played with some of the greatest artists in the business today. Among a few are Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Billy Idol, Brian Adams ... and the list goes on. His movie soundtrack credits are also quite extensive and impressive. |

Press Reviews
Their new album entitled "Blame" is ready for Spring release. An impressive follow-up to this album will be ready for release this Fall and completes the band’s transition to the new millennium with characteristic Finlay Rose artistic flare. Although Finlay Rose attracts and appeals to a wide range of music listeners, it fits right into the current sound that appeals to today’s trend setters. With many country rock aggregations that have become tedious and self indulgent, these band members have created something grander. |
