MTV REVIEW
COY KINDRED's Boulder-Style Funk
COY KINDRED is a serious standout among the local line-up of funk bands. They can wail on their instruments, singer Lauren Cuggino belts out soulful vocals and, besides that, they're involved in good causes. One of their upcoming gigs is a benefit for the Boulder County Safehouse on June 13 -- call 303-581-7929 for information or reservations. Their sound is high energy but not overpowering, and great for dancing. This Boulder band had only been together for a few months when they released their first disc, a solid recording chock full of sexy grooves. Expect bigger and better things from COY KINDRED in the very near future.

HERMAN'S HIDEAWAY REVIEW
Coy Kindred's first CD is self titled and produced by the band. Lauren Cuggino's sultry vocals dominate the original songs on this disc. Al Sims, Paul Rogalski, and Monte Thorin comprise the rest of the band. Joining them on this disc are percussionist Christian Teele and keyboardist Jeremy Lawton. The ten song CD provides a 40 minute glimpse into the minds and hearts of the band. From the bouncy |
