Artist History
Based out of Charlottesville, Virginia, Bella Morte is defined by their unique hybrid of gothic, synthpop, punk, and darkwave. Formed by Andy Deane and Gopal Metro in 1996, the band went on to win the 1997 Virginia Battle of the Bands, and used the proceeds to record their first full length album, "Remains".
In 1999, the band followed up with "Where Shadows Lie", which included their first club hit, "The Rain Within Her Hands". Picked up by Cleopatra Records in 2000, the album was reissued with two new tracks included, featuring Bn Whitlow on guitar. This album, coupled with their energetic live performances, quickly propelled them up the ranks of the gothic-industrial scene.
Now, with a new album on the near horizon and a record-setting U.S. tour behind them, Bella Morte is intent on continuing their rise in 2002.
