Press Reviews
"Probably one of the strangest albums I've heard. This aural heroin, dub-heavy band brings sub-bass to a new level. With songs like "Mile High" tracking at over 10 minutes, it can throw you into a deep hypnosis. Most of it sort of follows you around like a stalker. Instrumental, sample-ridden songs of dark dub. This is like instrumental trip hop done by Jeffrey Dahmer. Everyone should own a copy of "Bandwidth". Probably the closest thing you can get to death, without actually being there. This is just f***ked up. 5/5" - Effigy Nov/DEC '97 "The Toronto-based Sweet Tooth indie has a growing roster comprised of hardrockers Malhavoc and such chill-out/electronica locals as Sticky,Hollowphonic and Soulstorm. To that list add the dub-wise instrumental duo Terry Moore and Jeff Shorthouse. Their second album finds subliminal melody lines snaking through staggered beats, deep bass, quasi-goth interludes and man-machine soundscapes. All very original, all very compelling if you're into this sort of thing." (Dec. 8/99; J.B.- The Record) "Smooth, powerful, and dark dub. Bandwidth is Alien Radio Station's slickest and tightest project to date. In my mind this is the kind of dub I want to hear on a big powerful system with plenty of sub……… When you hear the bass in tracks like 'Soaking in it ' and 'Freakspeak' you know that you are listening to something fuckin' serious. And as for tracks like 'Low Down' weird isn't enough of a word! Bandwidth's hypnotic nature just draws you in and sucks up your subconscious. It is a serious album for people who are serious about the music they listen to." (Freaky Bob) Peek Magazine Nov '99 |
