Artist description
The Hope Fiends are a psychedelic rock band based
out of Toronto, Canada. After playing together
for several years in Ottawa and Moncton, Louis and Jay moved up to T.O. with hopes of
making a splash in the local music scene. With
influences ranging from Pink Floyd and the
Beatles, all the way to Shakti and Nat King Cole,
their sounds spiral in and out of the past and
future. They strive to achieve four ideals: the
MYSTICISM of Pink Floyd, the TOGETHERNESS of
Phish, the HUMILITY of John McLaughlin, and the
INFLUENCE of the Beatles.
The Hope Fiends consist of four regular members
at the moment: Louis Marc Vautour on bass,
guitars, keyboards, and vocals; Jason Perreira on guitars, drums and percussion, keyboards, and vocals;
Michael Craig on lead vocals and trombone; and (sub.guru) on drums and
percussion. The Hope Fiends actually started as a solo
project of Louis' but progressed into more of a
group effort for their second release. Additional
musicians that have recorded with The Hope Fiends
include Nick Zubeck on lead guitars and vocals,
Brian MacMillan on vocals and guitar, Marc Primeau
on drums and percussion, and Cosima Grunsky
providing her sweet voice. |
