Artist description
When people ask Rich Chambers what kind of music
his band plays, the lead singer of Half-Hour Late
replies, "Rock N' Roll." Confused, people then
ask, "what kind of rock n' roll?" Again, Chambers
simply responds, "Rock N' Roll."
Half-Hour Late is a band true to the Rock N' Roll
genre. They are an energetic new millennium band
with an innocence and wit reminiscent of an
earlier rock age. Their songs are both ear
catching and thought provoking. Chambers calls
their music "Rock N' Roll" because no other term
connotes the simple honesty of their music better.
Half Hour Late was formed in the summer of 1995
and consists of Rich Chambers on guitar and lead
vocals, Sean Gemmill on guitar and vocals, Todd
Foxcroft on bass and vocals, and Jeff Warren on
drums. They joined together with a common interest
in mind, to play rock music and have fun. When
forming the band, Chambers was not overly
concerned with musical proficiency as he was with
personality. He says that he asked the three
initial members because they were friends. He
has always felt that rock music is about feeling
and emotion and there is no better way to convey
that than with those who you truly do laugh and
cry with in the realities of the every day.
Since 1995, the band has added one member. After
using his basement as a rehearsal space for 7
years, Sean’s dad Jim Gemmill found himself
jamming with the boys almost every week.
Eventually, he became so proficient with
everything the band played that they started
adding him into their live performances. They
now share a good laugh when they call themselves
a "multi-generational band."
Half-Hour Late was formed seven years ago with two
goals in mind, to speak through music and to
have fun. These goals have given birth to an
intellectual band with an ear-catching voice.
They are good friends that have a good time
playing intelligent and fun Rock N'oll.

Group Members
Rich Chambers - Guitar/Vocals.
Rich Chambers is 34 years old and has played
guitar since he was 10, following in the
footsteps of his father. He played in school
bands and formed a rock band by the name of Side
Street that gathered a modest following in his
community during his teen years. He later went
on to College where he majored in music and
eventually finished with a Bachelor degree from
Simon Fraser University in English Literature.
In 1994 Chambers formed CUB Records and recorded
and released Santa’s Rockin’ Band, an album of
Rock N’ Roll Christmas covers and originals. To
date, he has sold over 3500 copies across Canada.
Todd Foxcroft-Bass/Vocals/Harmonica.
Todd Foxcroft is 33 years old and has been friends
with Chambers since kindergarten. He began music
at the age of 10 as a drummer. He has a Business
diploma from British Columbia Institute of
Technology as well as a Bachelor degree in
History from Simon Fraser University. Foxcroft
helped Chambers through the formation of CUB
Records and became his musical confidant. When
it came time for Chambers to find a bass player
he asked Todd. Todd had never touched a bass
before but was willing to try. It has been a
wise choice. Foxcroft brings an innate sense of
rhythm with a layman’s viewpoint that contributes
greatly to the band’s "everyman" feel.
Sean Gemmill-Guitar/Vocals
Sean Gemmill is 31 years old and has known Todd
and Rich for 13 years. He has a Bachelor degree
in Engineering from the University of Victoria.
Sean picks up his musical talents from his father
and grandfather who have both played guitar since
their teens. Sean couples his father’s love for
vintage rock with his own incline to alternative
music to become a unique element of Half-Hour
Late.
Jeff Warren-Drums
Jeff Warren is 37 years old and spent most of his
childhood years in Saskatchewan. It was during
those long and cold winters that Jeff began to
play hockey as a goalie and bang on his mother’s
pots and pans. Luckily for Half-Hour Late he
chose to stay with the drums, acquiring his first
set at the age of 15. He and Rich have known each
other for 9 years and he met the other two guys
when Rich invited him to join the band in 1995.
Jeff is an avid RUSH fan and is known to many
listeners of CFOX as "Jeff The Ultimate Rush Fan."
He studied photography in College, giving him a
keen eye for detail. The boys in the band lean
heavily on Jeff’s acute sense of timing.
Jim Gemmill-Guitar
Jim Gemmill is 50+ years old (the boys decided
that once one of them hit 50, they will no longer
say their real age…they don't want Mick Jagger to
feel threatened) and recently retired from a long
career with BC Hydro. A proficient guitarist in
his own right, Jim grew up listening and emulating
the surf guitar heroes of the 60’s. He brings a
unique approach to the music that clearly enriches
the overall aura and sound of the band.
