Artist History Following in the foot steps of 3 generations, Barefootgeno grew up on the stage. At age 3 he began recording and performing on television and nightclubs with his family ,4 brothers ,1 sister and parents.( The Native American version of the Partridge Family). As a child he had the chance to rub elbows with stars such as Jackie Gleason, Buddy Hackett, Sammy Davis jr. In his early teens he performed in rock bands and off broadway until he decided to move to Florida. There he began to refine his act. Already playing guitar BFG bagan to play all his bass lines with his feet using big pedals made for an organ (he cant play the pedals wearing shoes-get it ?). After a couple of years he joined the indie/college band "Naildrivers". Being a member of the naildrivers enabled him to tour the country and open for Dave Mathews Band, Cracker, Freddy Jones band, Black crows, Warren Haynes, Aquarium Rescue Unit and many others. Also , being a member of the Naildrivers, BFG received airplay on over 300 college radio stations, reaching the top 40 on over 100 of them. (Look for The Naildrivers in the CMJ archives). Since 1994 BFG has kept up a grueling performance scheduel clocking an average of at least 4 shows a week. His first year with the Naildrivers totaled 280 shows and, when he had the chance, a **** load of solo gigs for extra cash. BFG is also getting ready to release a full length CD produced by BarefootGeno and Ray Nesbit featuring Oteil burbrige (bass for Allman Bros.), Jimmy Herring (guitar for The Dead), Yonrico Scott (drums for Derek Trucks band), Kofi Burbridge (keys and flute for Derek Trucks band)Ray Nesbit (git. for Shadows of knight), THe Count Mbutu (percusion for many bands including Blues Traveller) and Petro Bass (percusion). You can expect a summer 2003 release for that. A 2003 summer tour is being booked as "The Barefootgeno Project" and it just might feature Yonrico, Kofi, Todd Smallie (bass for Derek Trucks Band), Ray and of coarse BarefootGeno.
