Artist description
A fresh mix of straight up hard rock, pop sensibilities and attention to detail. The hard driving roar of guitar, drum and bass virtuosos never loose the tender thread of vocals and melodies in the songs whether screaming or crooning. Can this be a new breed of music where melody and hard rock find balance? Another plus - absolutely amazing live...the energy just pours off the stage. Not a single note or beat is missed in a live performance. |

Artist History
Psycho Cafe in one form or another, has been together for 10 years. In any long-term relationship things can occasionally become stagnant. Whether it's your drummer temporarily moving to Hawaii, your bass player taking up guitar in a hard-core band or maybe your lead singer spending two years on the road with a signed act , a band can temporarily get side tracked.
This was the state Psycho Cafe found itself in at the beginning of the new year. The band's members desperately needed something to rev up the juices of rock again and that something came in the form of a small West Coast tour in January. The tour, which originated from a liquor-induced conversation at a bar , became the band's salvation. As Cafe's lead singer, Aaron Johnson , poetically described it , " touring put a spark in our ass." The anal injection he's referring to is the response the band received. What Psycho Cafe found when it hit the road was that its sound was more relevant and accepted than ever. Kids gelled to the metal-meets-emo-meets-damn-good-songs.
With their newly found fans and inspiration in full throttle, Cafe has finally begun work on a eagerly awaited second disc, which will be "definitely an EP , possibly a full-length," said Johnson . The band then plans to shop it to labels and have it available for sale at shows. They're also planning a possible jaunt to the East-Coast this summer. Considering their success in January such a tour should guarantee " Ventura's oldest young band " a long-deserved national following.
If and when the time comes for Psycho Cafe to go full-time, will the members drop their many side-projects? " Oh yeah." said Johnson. " We would love to get to the point where we can do this band non-stop. Just to be able to worry about one thing for once would be a relief.")
If any area band has put in the time to make it. Psycho Cafe be thy name.)
