Marc Puricelli is a rare prize, a piano player with an unerring ear for blending elements of pop into his jazz with creativity and emotional candidness. As
this album (Desire) on Jazz Heritage attests, the New Yorker is a first-class arranger and composer.

Press Reviews
Marc's approach to the piano and music is orchestral, his resources are global, and his goal is to make music at a new level. It speaks to the heart, the emotions, and to those unmapped areas of the mind in which new ideas can grow unhindered. Well outside the boundaries, The Shade is the nextstage in Marc's journey, a journey that we can make with him. --- Ernie Rideout, Keyboard Magazine
What Melting Point affirms is that Puricelli is the rare musician who refuses to get handcuffed by category. The music on this record breathes with an ease and naturalness that underscores more than the leader's high powers of invention; it tells us that organically-derived music can not be confused with less honest efforts. Its purity is unmistakable, attesting to the very nobility of purpose implicit in speaking through one's instrument. For Puricelli, making music is not unlike breathing. -Jeff Levenson, Billboard Magazine
