Artist History
A few years ago, I saw someone warming up a set of
pipes. Not even playing anything, just tuning up.
I was amazed that so much sound could come from an
acoustic instrument. Curious, I searched the web to
find out how bagpipes work, and found pages on how to
learn. I began teaching myself for a year, and
spent the second year as part of a great band:
Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums (www.silverthistle.com)
where I received expert instruction from Open Grade (professional) piper Kenneth Liechti. Since then I have continued to study bagpipe music and practice daily. I put this netCD together as a way to store
recordings in a place where people can listen to them. |

Instruments
Great Highland Bagpipes. I also play/have played guitar, bass, drums, sax, mountain dulcimer, and a little mandolin -- but not here. |
