Artist description
Classical Music Makers is an online consortium of Classical Musicians and Modern Composers from around the world. The aims of this group are:
1)To make Classical and New works available to listeners online and in other arenas.
2)To help Composers and other Musicians gain wider recognition.
3)To be a resource for Film, Multimedia and other Producers for professional sound and music design.
4)To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas about composition and performance, about issues regarding online music sites and classical music distribution in general, and for discussions of other topics of concern to serious music providers today.
We are a diverse group of composers, arrangers, orchestrators, improvisers and performers. Our members stem from a variety of musical backgrounds. We each have our individual methods and preferences in the performances we display, ranging from electronic renderings (MIDI) to live performances and even live/electronic mixes.
The musical styles of our composers run the gamut of contemporary classical music --- from post-modern to original works in older traditions. Similarly, our performers feature works ranging from medieval folk and sacred styles to music that was composed just yesterday. All of our members offer substantial classical instrumental or vocal work , and some also produce jazz, pop, or works in other genres. Several of our members also collaborate online to produce joint performances of music, old and new.
