Artist description
As the name connotes, the band draws from the improvisational aspects of music that was the hallmark of the Grateful Dead. The band is also influenced, by a wide variety of styles and artists, from Lou Reed and the Rolling Stones to the pop side of REM, Dave Matthews and Big Head Todd. Combining such musically diverse flavors, Left for Dead's unique brand of live music is accentuated by a vast and eclectic play list of originals as well as seldom heard/little known covers, all of which have been adapted by the band set forth the sound which, over the last nine years, is Left for Dead. |

Artist History
Left For Dead first presented its loosely arranged style of original music in Los Angeles in the early '90s. The band was founded by singer-songwriters George Alfonso and Stephen Duplantis, who met while attending law school in L.A. The band met with almost immediate success and toured extensively throughout Southern California and the Southwest, including several shows at the Troubadour and other clubs on the Sunset Strip.
After an extended hiatus, the band regrouped in Dallas in 1998. Joining the two guitarists in this incarnation are Daniel Garza on drums, and Sean Chadwick on bass (both having been the rhythm section for the award winning band Psalm 69).
