Press Reviews
The opening band, Blue Pear, was from San Francisco, and man were they into their live delivery. High energy would be somewhat of an understatement. In fact, I don't think there was a moment when every band member had their feet on the ground. They were bouncing off speakers, each other, and the audience. They were falling down and hurting themselves. By the last song, I think the singer must have lost 2 or 3 pints of blood, some of it on my shirt, which i am not going to wash. The crowd at The Red Door seemed a bit taken by suprise. Nobody I spoke with had ever heard of them, and as BP pummelled the room with their brain rattling volume and razor sharp delivery, more than a few locals had their jaws dragging on the floor. They raged through ten or so songs like a runaway freight train, and when the dust cleared, and the floor stopped shaking, the crowd seemed to stunned to applaud. For literally 20 seconds or so everyone just stood there as if in disbelief. Finally, one person started to clap then everyone just went nuts. Full five stars- concert of the year material! -RP, The Underground Xpress |
