Artist History
Combining elements of punk rock music with an energetic horn section and emotional lyrics, the members of the Syracuse, New York based band, Saaa has recently been getting attention for their lively and catchy performances.
Originating in January 2001, the band added a trumpet, tenor sax, and trombone to the typical punk rock arrangement of guitar, bass, and drums and soon combined elements of jazz, pop, and rock into a unique sound. Quickly, the band began playing shows at the Planet 505 and other clubs in the Central New York area, where they quickly developed a following among teenagers. The band's intense style and enchanting stage presence soon set them apart from other bands in the area.
Early in 2002, Saaa released their first set of studio recordings on an EP entitled "Everything and Nothing." The album, which contains five original songs, highlights the band's unique style and engaging melodies.
In January 2003, Saaa recorded 3 brand new tracks on a split CD entitled “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” with local based band, Endive. Recorded and produced completely independent (much like Everything and Nothing). Saaa is capable of functioning as a working organization.
Today, Saaa continues to write original songs and perform around the Central New York area. The band plans on returning to the studio to record a full-length debut album by next year. But the seven members of the band remain consistent in their goals: to have a blast entertaining audiences and spreading their new and exciting music.
