Artist History
Back in 1996 in the void which their lives had become, Brandon Ingley and Jordan Kuh decided to start a band driven by influences such as Nirvana and Silverchair. The first lineup consisted of Brandon on guitar, Jordan on drums, and Tony Williams on the mic. After a few months of that lineup, Tony stepped out as vocalist, but remains a friend of the band. The search for a vocalist began (yeah no one knew Brandon could sing). In early 1997 Ryan Decuir was added as the new vocalist and the band began writing all new songs with a different sound. This was the era in which the song "Another Day" was written. A little while after that Ryan was booted (still friends) and Brandon took over on vocals.
Later on... Damon Dedes and Steve Gallant-Gardner joined up with Ransack. Damon on guitar and Steve on bass. Songwriting commenced and improved through this period. After writing for awhile, Bliss (former name of Ransack), entered the studio and on May 2, 1998 and recorded 4 songs: Myster, Bleed, American Boy, and Another Day. After recording and passing out demos, gigs began popping up. After playing a few parties and at Crofton Middle, Steve met the sole of the band's boot. He was later replaced with Matt O'Berry who lived next door to the others.
This sets you at about 1999. In January, the band decided to record again. This time more songs. Another Day, American Boy, and Myster were joined by the songs Here, Crooked Stone, Andale, and Jimi. This demo wasn't as succesful as the other but more gigs came about and then they decided to take a break off and write some more songs. These new songs would later make up the "Before and After" CD. "Before and After" was started May of 2000 and was finished later that fall. Nothing else happened that was major that year.
2001...the year started off with a show at Knights of Columbus with good friends Oddzar and Safety2nd. Other acquaintances and friends were made at this show (like PK who is making this site). The band began playing more shows that weren't parties. Ransack was a competitor in the Annual Battle of the Bands at Maryland Hall in Annapolis as a representative of Arundel High School. Somehow, they didn't win or even get put into the top 3. It is believed that they were disqualified for damaging equipment but no one is sure. It still pisses people off that they didn't win. Anyways, Ransack was also put on the 2nd Igloo Rechord's compilation CD with a handful of other bands. New songs have been added to the band's shows and now the heavy in your face band that just played parties in years before has become a local scene favorite. Though there have been a few arguments, a few threats to boot Jordan, and other incidents, the band has stayed strong and still put on a good show. Check them out...Please? Ok let me rephrase that... GO SEE THEM NOW DAMNIT!!!!!
