Artist History
I hold a bachelor of music degree in music education
and a master of music degree in composition from Central
Washington University. As a teen, I played rock guitar
and some keys in bands. Then, at 21, I went back to
school at Mount Hood Community College and studied jazz
piano. Then to CWU for the two degrees. And somewhere
in there we lived in Japan for two years teaching English.
While in Japan I studied the koto and shamisen. My master's thesis project is a one-act opera in Japanese based on the Japanese folk tale Kasa Jizou.e |
