Artist description George Zownir is a very talented, 22 year old,singer/songwriter/guitarist, from the New England area. His agressive style of guitar playing, mixed with deep lyrics and soulful singing, has produced a unique blend and style of music, similar to that of the Dave Matthews Band. During his live performance he uses a Boomerang Phrase Sampler to create multiple lopps. By slapping the body of his guitar, he creates "slap" drum beat that replicates the sound of a bass drum and snare drum. He then uses a Digitech Whammy pedal to lower his guitar an octave so that it sounds like a bass guitar. He will then add and layer various guitar parts and solo during them so by the end of the song it sounds like an entire band is playing right there with him. The difference in sound and style along with such an intense live show captivates audiences where ever he plays. Be sure to check him out when he comes to a town near you.

Artist History George Zownir was born on August 22, 1980, in Bergen County, New Jersey. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 and was influenced by bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. A few years later, punk and ska became his influence. He then went to college where the sounds of Phish and the Dave Matthews Band caught his attention. During this time he played at local bars and his set lists consisted of a various array of cover tunes. He then began to write a few of his own songs in the summer of 2000. Now in 2002 he has written 14 origianl songs, where 4 of them have recently been recorded on an EP. This is only the beginning of a future success.
