Artist History
Though still in its infancy, All Else Fades
has produced a sound that belies the fact that
its members have only been together since late
January of 2002.
A convergence of ideas from former members of
two notable San Diego bands
(MINDSIZE – Brian ,Graeme & Travis, SYSTEM DECAY – Steve), AEF’s sound is difficult
to define and impossible to ignore.
Each band member contributes to the total product.
The result: A sound unique to AEF that does not
fit into any category but rather combines the best
elements of many.
Equipment:
Brian – Korg Triton LE, Kurzweil SP88 & Studiologic SL 990 boards, Roland & EMU modules, Roland and Yamaha Cabs, Blue Voodoo Stack, Epiphone and Fender Guitars
Graeme – Mesa/Boogie heads & cabs, Ernie Ball MusicMan, Fender and Ibanez guitars, Boss effects
Travis – OCDP drums.
Steve – Ibanez basses, David Eden heads, Carvin 8x10, SWR 4x10 and Wan Professional Audio 15" cabs |

Press Reviews
Very few bands have a buzz when they play in San Diego for multiple years. No band who hasn't even played a note live has created the anticipation that All Else Fades has. With former members of Mindsize, Inflict and System Decay this group is poised to make an immediate impact on the growing San Diego music scene. All Else Fades features the straight off the boat from Scotland Guiness slinging Dickson brothers Brian (Keyboards/Synth) and Graeme (Guitars). Add Jeff Shood (Drums), Steve Kerrin (Bass), and recently added Jay McElroy (Vocals). It is important to note the recent addition Jay because while there is music available on mp3.com because of intense demand, it is currently without vocals. Soon the boys will return to the studio to add some of Jay's ever-flowing poetry to the scheme. Taking a seasoned approach it is likely the band will release their material simultaneously with the start of their public performances. Without the touring and industry pressures of their previous projects the music is at a true labor of love rather than work. Because of that formula the work that is inevitable should be exceptional in every aspect. There is no current projection as to when the release of the music will take place or when the first live performance will be. If you were a Mindsize fan you most likely will like the direction of AEF. The sound is broader but more melodic, concentrating less on quantity of sound and more on quality of sound. Not since Nine in Nails has the keyboard and synth been used in such a manner to where it is part of the music's driving force. While opinions out there vary as to whether that sound can be relevant in heavy music, the bands anthem "All Else Fades" clearly answers the question. Metallica dabbled in with this instrument on the best selling album of their career the "Black" album to great success. We will be following this band very closely as they prepare to take San Diego by storm. Don't be surprised if you are unable to get tickets to their first show. With a sound that combines sounds of HUM, Mindsize, TOOL, Metallica and Enya with outstanding layering they surely won't miss. -A. Staicer, Brothers From Another Planet, The Nebulus
