Artist History
back in the year 2000 i picked the name soil for my project because i thought it fit how i felt at the time... dirty, used and cast aside. the music on macabre soil [pale_mother may 2002] portray my personal feelings at the given time. i don't actually remember what i was thinking and what the meaning of the individual tracks are but i remember the feeling. a feeling i hope i'll never have to face again. then now, it's 2002 and i felt it was time for a change, but since i didn't want to confuse people too much (i feel i'm doing that enough already with all my many projects) i didn't want to change too much, so i just took the name of the cd as the project name also. macabre soil is dirty and disgusting but in a beatiful way. i use this project to get agressions out and to lift whatever weights that are on my chest off of it.at this moment i'm not working on any new recordings with macabre soil, only a rerelease of the may 2002 release macabre soil which will be called morecabre soil and contain some older tracks i had lying around as well and three new tracks. i think if i had to describe the project it's all the chaos in my head that's trying to break out. but maybe it's pointless, i guess st of it is doomed to stay in there for very long time. |

Press Reviews
review of macabre soil - p.a.n.i.k # 2 (24/8/2002)
"my first impression of soil was through an mp3 from his website, the track was called "the dance of the dead", and even tho i wasn't that impressed with the title's originality, i was surprised by the track, then again, titles mean so much, but also so little, so what consequences did this have for the track? everything taken into considderation, i needed more, so kasper, from pale_mother, sent me a specimen of soils first record. personally i think that "dance of the dead" is the records strength, even tho it's too short, and that means that the track doesn't get a chance to evolve. i don't feel that the record has much new thinking, and it can tend to get boring, but actually it's a good debut, i'm looking foreward to hearing the sound evolve a bit more. keep your eyes open for soil, and his low-budget label, insomnia."
