Artist description Siren Circus is the sublime voice of composer twins Cathryn and Lucie Robson. Their songs have been broadcast extensively throughout Europe, North America and Australia. They have composed for dance, film and theatre artists and have appeared in several independent films including 'The Caretaker' which has been screened at film festivals throughout Europe. The twins have studied performance with English National Opera, composition and singing. They have recorded extensively with a variety of musicians and songwriters. Cathryn and Lucie were voted amongst the best female vocalists of 2000 by an international panel of contemporary music critics, producers and DJs. They have recently produced a mix of 'Doorman', from their album Solid Poems on a Ghost of a Subject, with Sunfish Productions, and are currently writing songs for a future album release. Artist History The first studio recordings Siren Circus made together were when they were 17. At that point they weren't concerned about releasing the songs, though one did find its way onto a Scottish compilation recording. After this they had several years of writing and performing separately. They released songs on a small English label, sang with an acid house band (Ege Bam Yasi) and collaborated with other artists.Siren Circus as it is today was formed in the mid- nineties. Since then the duo have composed for film, dance and theatre artists and released songs on various 'new music' compilations in addition to Solid Poems on a Ghost of a Subject (Sargasso Records).
